Are you one of our youth leaders?
Are you adventurous and want to be part of the scouts' longest road trip? Do you want to
learn to communicate in an international context? Would you like to travel around Tunisia
and Denmark and educate and motivate leaders to better scouting?
The Danish and Tunisian scouts are seeking four young leaders to our partnership.
As a youth leader you will be assigned to the project "Reaching out two local communities"
where you together with volunteers in both countries will help to expand our partnership
project to educate and motivate for better scouting and be an advocate for "youth
involvement" and "equal rights to participate". We wish to employ two Danish and two
Tunisian youth leaders. Together with the three other youth leaders you will travel around
in a specially built bus in Tunisia and Denmark and conduct workshops for local scouts,
schools, etc. with a focus on exactly what the local leaders need.
Your tasks
As a youth leader, your task is to support activities in the project, run workshops for the
Tunisian scout leaders come up with your good inputs, meet a lot of clever Danish and
Tunisian scouts, and to document the project with pictures / video.
You will start with a 2-week youth leadership training conducted by DUF. The course lasts
from 5-18 d.. September and will teach you in particular project management, conflict
resolution and rhetoric. You will also receive training and practical experience in
communication, presentation techniques and motivation in an international context
In October and November 2011 you will all be in Denmark, where you will be assigned the
project. In January 2012, you will travel to Tunisia, where you are helping to ensure a good
start for the roadtrip'en by helping build the bus. Then you will be travelling around for two
months in Tunisia and visit local scout groups, schools, etc.. In April, you will be driving the
bus to Denmark and through May and June, visit the Danish scout groups and
schools. Finally, the project will be presented at the National Jamboree "Spejdernes Lejr"
in Denmark.
Wages, etc..
You hired by Les Scout Tunisiens and refers to Mohsen Zrigui. Your daily work and
communication will be handled by the Tunisian-Danish partnership committee with Slim
Guizani as project manager.
You get pocket money (50 DKK/dag - approx 13 TND) and covered expenses for
transportation, accommodation and food.
We have scheduled vacation for you throughout December 2011 and in week 23 in
2012. Additionally, you will have the option of additional 1-week vacation in the spring of
2012 - established in connection with planning the project.
Your profile
We imagine that you are
- 22-30 years
- Ambitious, adventurous and patient
- Excited about the opportunity to be full-time scout for 1 year
- Has been a scout leader for 3 years and has participated in parts of the corps leadership
training
- Have completed highschool or equivalent
In addition,
- Speak and write English at a high level
- You can handle a computer, camera and camcorder
- You have a driver's license
Maybe you have experience with:
- Working in an international and inter-religious context
- Communicating with people who have a different background than you.
- Blogging
- Website development
- Repair of cars (changing oil, changing wheels, rechargeable battery, etc.)

Application deadline:19 August 2011 18.00 - Interviews will take place in the 20th August.
The position is subject to achieving funding for the project. This is expected to be settled
before the application deadline.
