1. Area of circle (A) = ? r2
Where r is radius of circle, and ? is called constant value which is equal to 3.14
Unit of area of circle = (meter)2 =square of meter
2. Diameter: Diameter is twice of radius.
Diameter of circle d = 2 x radius
Where d is diameter

4. Circumference: the circumference of the circle is the total distance around the edge
Circumference = ? x diameter = ? d
Circumference = ? x 2 x radius = 2 ? r
Unit of circumference = meter
Let's see the Area of a Circle Formula based example
Example: find the area of circle where radius is 2m.
Solution: we know area of circle:
A = ?r2
In this example we have given radius r = 2
Area of circle (A) = ? (2)2
= 4?
= 4 x 3.14
= 12.56 m2
Example: find the area of circle where diameter is 4 m.
Solution: we know area of circle:

In this example we have given d = 4 m
So area of circle = ? 42/4
= ? 16/4
= 4 ?
= 4 x 3.14 = 12.56
Area of circle = 12.56 m2
Example: find the diameter of circle where radius is 6m.
Solution: we know diameter of circle:
d = 2 x radius
In this example we have given radius r = 2
Diameter of circle (d) = 2 x r
= 2 x 6
= 12
