In the geometry, a triangle can be consider as a one of the most basic shape that
has three sides which are interlinked with each other to form a closed shape.
A triangle can be consider as a polygon that has three vertices and the three sides
that are most popularly known as edges of the polygon.
In the mathematical definition w e can say that a triangle is a geometrical shape
that has three straight lines which are interlinked with each other to form a closed
shape.
On the basis of the three sides of the triangle we can categorize the triangle into
three types. The three types of triangles are given below:
(A) Equilateral triangle: Equilateral triangle is a type of triangle that has all the
sides equal in length. An equilateral triangle can be considered as a regular
polygon.

(B) Scalene triangle: Scalene triangle is a type of triangle where all the sides are
not equal in length. In the scalene triangle all the sides and angles are of different
size in length and measure.
(c) Isosceles Triangle: It is a special type of a triangle where two sides of the
triangle are equal in length. In the same aspect we can say that the two angles of
the triangle have the same measure in size.
Here we are going to discussing about the Formula for Area of a Triangle to
calculate the area of the triangle.
To find the area of the triangle we need to perform the product of base and height
of the triangle and perform division by two.
In the mathematical formula notation we can represent the formula for calculating
the area of rectangle as:
Formula for Area of a Triangle = 1 / 2 * h * b
In the above notation we use the symbol `h' as the height of the triangle. In the
same aspect the symbol `b' is used for representing the value of base of the
triangle.
Here we need to remember one thing that the value of base and height must be
perpendicular to each other. Now we show you some of the example that helps in
understanding the concept of calculating the area of rectangle.
Example a: Suppose Donald has a mat which is in shape of triangle. The base of
the mat is 15 inches and the height of the mat is 10 inches.

Donald wants to perform the decoration on the mat, which required the cost of $ 2
@ of per inches square. What will be the total cost of developing a mat?
Solution: In the above question given that Donald has triangular mat which has
the base of a5 inches and the height of the mat is 10 inches. Through the given
value we can easily calculate the area of rectangle is:
Area of triangular mat is = 1 / 2 * h * b
= 1 / 2 * 15 * 10
= 75 inches2
On the basis of given area of the triangular mat we can easily calculate the total
cost of developing a mat is
75 inches2 * $ 2
So, the total cost is = $ 150
