Also we know that the area of the rectangle is equal to a * h, so the area of the right angled
triangle is equal to ( a * h ) / 2
Now we will look at the triangle which is equilateral. For such triangles, we say that all the
sides of the triangles are equal. So we say that the area of such triangle can be calculated as
fol ows:
Area of equilateral triangle = root ( 3) * a^2 / 4

IN case we come across the triangle in which we are given the measure of the two sides of
the triangle say a and b.
Along with this the measure of the opposite angle of the triangle is given. Let the measure of
this angle is c degrees, then we say that the area of the triangle is given by:
Area = ( a * b * sin C ) / 2
If we look at the special triangle, we cal it a scalene triangle, where the measure of al the
sides of the triangle is unequal.
Let us assume that the sides are a, b and c units. Now we wil apply heron's formula to find
the area of such triangles. For this we wil first find the value of s.
S= ( a + b + c ) / 2
Area of the triangle = root ( s * ( s - a ) * ( s - b ) * ( s - c )
So what we need to do for finding the area of the triangle, we wil first recognize which type of
the triangle is it and what all values are given, which can be used to find the area of the given
triangle.

For example:- Calculate the area of the triangle if the value of the base and height is 3.8 inch
and 2.1 inch respectively?
1. Put value of base and height in the formula [1/2 * b * h] => [1/2 * 3.8 * 2.1].
2. Calculate the multiplication of values=> [1/2 * 7.98].
3. Result is 3.99 inch2.
