0.00 (0 votes)
Document Description
In the US, there are several cases of car accidents that happen each day which may cause injuries and deaths. Fortunately, car accidents are something that can be prevented. Here are some tips to avoid being involved in car accidents. Check Car Condition Make sure that the car and its accessories are always in good condition. Check if the tires are properly inflated, the windshields and windows are clean, lights are working properly, and the brakes are adjusted. Check the Weather Conditions As much as possible, it is best to avoid driving during poor weather conditions. If this can’t be avoided, make sure that the windshield wipers are functioning in the presence of snow or rain. Make sure that the headlights are on so other drivers can see you. If you must drive in the snow, drive very slowly and make sure that you manage a considerable stopping distance. Seatbelt Can Save Your Life Wearing a seatbelt only takes a few seconds. If there are children with you, make sure that they have car or booster seats, particularly for children who are under eight years of age; the car or booster seat should never be placed in the front seat facing the air bag. Avoid Drunk Driving When you consume alcoholic beverages, make sure that you avoid driving, as alcohol can cause poor vision, judgment, and reaction time. Follow the Speed Limit Sometimes, you will see that almost all drivers disobey the speed limit. Despite that, make sure that you always follow the rule. It is a violation of traffic law and police officers will issue a ticket when you get caught. Use Signals Use your signals even if you think that there are no other cars in the road, you’ll never know. Use a signal a few seconds before you change a lane so that you give the other drivers an advanced notice before doing so. Avoid Tailgating Always keep a safe stopping distance from the car in front of you. You should be able to stop in time if the driver immediately hits the brake. Avoid Distractions Distracted driving is one of the major causes of car crashes. If you must use your cell phone, navigate a map, or take a snack, pull over.
