The Beautiful Valley’s
Picture if you will for a while a valley where all is lush with life and the sun beams
warmth down to one at a most pleasant temperature. Where the air smells clean
and fresh and one’s eyes swim in the scene as the early morning sunlight makes
the early morning dew drops sparkle like diamonds on the meadows spread out as
far as the eye can see. Though if you can picture as well for a moment a mist that
stayed all day and night as if not a mist but a fine smoke.
It was here that I once spent my life with myself and my friend Ash. Happy and
content with the way my life had fallen into place. Sometimes the steps I took in my
valley were not so clear than others in the view I could see. These were more often
in the times when I was taking part in my habit of enjoying times with my friend Ash..
Of course when I was not enjoying Ash’s company the view of the valley, the smell
of the fresh air and the fresh scent of flowers were more enjoyable.
One day I was sat by the river when a little imp came into my company. I was quite
startled because even though I had heard of these creatures never did I imagine
that one would come to talk to me. For after all I asked of nothing in my life for I had
all. Apart from this annoying mist that was never far from my view and if truth be told
sometimes I even missed this mist in my vision and the company of Ash.
“Do you know what I would like to do for you?” asked the Imp.
“No do tell please.” said I.
“There is a place you must go to far, far away and over and beyond the mountains.”
The Imp went on to describe the valley that would behold my eyes there. A valley
where life was not just full of green meadows and wild flowers that bloomed all year
long and rivers that ran with such clear water that tasted so fine as if the water was
made of the finest wine. Yet also here in this valley there was such a rich
abundance of natures finest animals where you could taste the fresh fruits, swim in
the water and breathe in the air that tasted so sweet. Where according to the Imp
there would be no mist to withhold the beauty of life.
“For please do tell me little Imp how I might go about venturing to this new valley?”
“Ahh I can hear that you are interested in going there” said he. The Imp continued
with his directions of how to gain access to this valley and was I must say not
difficult instructions. I must and you too if you would like to travel there, take one
step at a time, upwards towards the nearest mountain. The one item that we are not
allowed to take on our travel is but our little friend Ash for he is not our friend but is
in fact a little devil that produces the mist. With this said I stood on the banks of the
river and thanked the little Imp. I took one step forward and thought for a moment of
my lovely valley here with all its glory and beauty, then as I thought of this I
remembered how the Imp had described the new valley that I was now travelling
towards. I was halfway up the second mountain from my old valley, when I stopped
and took in the view of my new surroundings. Here the air tasted so fresh, the grass
was the freshest green one had ever seen, the flowers bloomed with an intensity of
life and the waters did indeed taste like the finest wine and the fruit here exploded
with such a delicious taste inside ones mouth. Indeed everything seemed as fresh
and beautiful as it had done when I was but a young man before I had met my friend
Ash.
Not every step was as easy as one may think and many, many times I thought of
Ash. Yet with each and every step I took my memories of Ash seemed to fade into
the back of mind. For with each and every step I felt better, smelt better, tasted
better and my field of vision was no longer blighted by the mist of old..
As I travelled up the mountain my breath grew stronger as if with every step.
Sometimes I would stop and look at my new view and briefly I may think of my old
friend Ash the Cigarette. He could not venture with me to these new places however
he did as he always did rid myself of the fine views of life.
So yes I missed Ash but I knew I was better off without him.
It has been a good couple of weeks now since I left my old home. It is with pleasure
that I can assure you my thoughts of Ash and needing him by my side are now
quickly gone and are no longer a constant thought and need for me. Just like I am
sure you too do not miss him so much now as you too venture forth to the valley of
beauty; because you like me enjoy the beauty of life, the fresh sweet air, the clear
bubbling brook and the glorious taste of the freshest fruit. Nowhere in this valley is
there the tobacco plant one of which my friend Ash enjoyed so much. To be truly
free and not tied to one plant which had and does for others blind one to the beauty
of life is truly, truly rewarding to ones life. I am so glad to know that you too like me
have crossed the mountains to this new valley. Come enjoy lie down and breathe
cleanly, easily and deeply.
