Business Process - Changing Operational Paradigms
The business environment is very dynamic today and IT has to manage the increasing number of business application. To
meet this challenge, organizations need extreme processing capacity; resources and IT budgets to manage it. Moreover with
applications continuing to increase and IT resources becoming inadequate, we need a business process technology that can
help reduce cost at the same time help to quicken the time needed to market the product.
According to Wikipedia, business process can be defined as "A business process is a collection of related, structured activities
or tasks that produce a specific service or product (serve a particular goal) for a particular customer or customers."
Thus it is an activity that controls software and services and accomplish a specific organizational goal to provide total
visibility into your organization. You can document, automate, optimize and control the operation of your multi-enterprise
business processes for less cost and increase efficiency.
With the advent of cloud computing, IT organizations have been able to provide more services to their customers. Use of
cloud services has benefitted companies immensely such as lowered cost; shorter application deployment times and
moreover cloud compute resources can be used to add capacity to application processing workload "on-demand". They are
highly flexible processes that allow you to quickly and efficiently adapt your business processes to a rapidly changing and
increasingly complex global environment.
Cloud processes allow you to quickly and efficiently adapt your business processes to a rapidly changing and increasingly
complex global environment. In order to execute the processes within an organization efficiently, a business process network
combines the application and the integration services. This is done in order to carry on methods like reverse logistics
management, order management, automated shipping and many others.
Business process networks (BPN) can help organizations is several ways. Few of them are as follows:-
*
Reduce operational complexities.
*
Manage business process outsourcing (BPO) services, like finance, human resource and many others.
A business process network is organized through multi-tenant architecture in order to result in uninterrupted connectivity
between the supply chain and the trading partners.
Thus business process management solution hosted on the cloud, allows end-users to perform their jobs efficiently, thereby
taking the pressure off IT managers. What Gartner defines as a "...collaborative multi-enterprise process integration among
members of B2B communities" enables the different roles in the process to exchange business-critical transactional
information electronically in real time.
