has studied resistance patterns in an ongoing laboratory study for over 10 years. Your healthcare

HOW DOES LEVAQUIN® WORK?
Different antibiotics work in different ways to kill bacteria. LEVAQUIN® is a type of antibiotic called
a fluoroquinolone. Fluoroquinolone antibiotics are "bactericidal," which means they kil the bacteria
causing the infection. Other types of antibiotics stop bacteria from growing. Fluoroquinolones are
concentration-dependent drugs, meaning they kil bacteria more efficiently when a higher amount
of medicine reaches the area of infection.

Be sure to tel your doctor of any al ergies you have whether it is to medication or food,
preservatives, or dyes. Also, tell your doctor of any other medications you are taking, including

It is very important that you take this medicine exactly as your doctor tel s you to. If you miss a
dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next dose.
Do NOT double doses.
Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur: skin rash, itching, or
redness.
Tel your doctor as soon as possible if any of the fol owing side effects occur: abdominal or
stomach cramps or pain, abdominal tenderness, agitation, blisters, confusion, diarrhea which may
also be bloody, fever, hal ucinations, pain, inflammation, or swelling in calves of legs, shoulders, or
hands, psychosis, sensation of skin burning, redness and swelling of skin or trembling.
