Confidence Interval FormulaConfidence Interval FormulaMany of us are not familiar with the term Confidence Interval so in this article we wil see that
where the term confidence interval is used, what is the meaning of the term confidence
interval and what are the uses of the term confidence interval.
The confidence interval is a term which is used in the math in the context of the statistics. Now
let us see the definition of the term confidence interval.
The confidence interval is a type of interval which predicts the parameter of the population and
now let us come to the use of the confidence interval.
The confidence interval is utilized to show the reliability of any of the estimate. The confidence
interval is a type of the interval which is observed which means that it has been found with the
help of the given observations and it is not the same for each of the sample.
The confidence interval general y contains the interest parameter with the condition that the
experiment is being performed again and again.
Now how often the confidence interval includes the interest parameter is further decided by
the level of the confidence or the coefficient of the confidence.

Let us now understand the meaning of the level of the confidence. The level of the confidence
means that if the confidence interval is generated about many distinct data analyses of
continuously performed experiments which are not same then the portion of those intervals
which include the exact value of that parameter will almost be like the level of the confidence.
This fact is proved justification given under the making of the confidence interval.
The confidence interval general y includes a range of the intervals or the values which help as
the very good estimates of the parameter of the population which is not known. But in some of
the very little cases not a single of these values include the parameter value.
The probability of the fact that the range of the confidence will have this one true parameter of
the population if the distribution of the samples is already given wil be decided by the level of
the confidence of the confidence interval.
Just only one sample is not described by the confidence interval. The value of the level of the
confidence is given in the form of the percent so that if we speak that we are ninety five
percent confident that the confidence interval of ours contain the exact value of the parameter
then we mean that the ninety five percent of the confidence interval which is observed wil
contain the exact parameter value.
Also when we have taken the sample then the parameter of the population is whether
contained o not in the constructed interval, there does not remain any chance.
Generally the level of the confidence is not calculated from the given data but it is decided by
none other than the researcher.
If the levels of the confidence are more then there are large confidence intervals and therefore
there exists less no. of the exact estimates of the parameter.
The factors that can change the size of the confidence interval may be the sample size, the
variation in the population and also the level of the confidence.

Example:
Determine the statistics confidence interval value for the given data is whose sample mean is
given that as 25, observed mean value for the given experiment is 8.2547, observed standard
deviation value is given that 5.6267 which is having a confidence interval of 95%.
Solution: Given
Sample mean = 25
observed mean = 8.2547
standard deviation = 5.6267
confidence level for the confidence interval is 95%
EBM =
= 0.025
= 2.14
EBM =
2.4082276
- EBM = 8.2547 - 2.4082276
= 5.8464724
+ EBM = 8.2547 + 2.4082276, = 10.6629276
The confidence interval using the confidence level 95% is given by (5.8464724,10.6629276 )
