Diablo is one of the most popular video games in the market today. With the huge technological
advancements that the world has made, everything is becoming much easier. Thanks to
innovative games like Diablo, you no longer need to leave the comfort of your home to find
entertainment. The world famous Diablo franchise is currently waiting for its third installment,
Diablo III. This dark fantasy horror-themed action game which has many video game enthusiasts
anxious is under development by Blizzard. Unlike the previous two games where classes had fixed
gender, the five classes in Diablo III allow the players themselves to pick gender. The five classes
include:
The Barbarians The Witch-doctor The Wizard The Monk The Demon hunter
The Barbarian
Of the five confirmed classes for Diablo III, this was the first. It was announced in mid 2008 in
Paris, where the development of the game was officially made public. As expected by many Diablo
players, the Barbarian class in Diablo III comes with a number improved skills and abilities. This a
melee-oriented class endowed with great physical powers. The Barbarian uses fury as a resource
pool instead of mana. This Barbarian is simply an evolutionary improvement of the Diablo II one,
save for altered appearance and a variety of new skills.
Barbarian Skills
Initially, the skills of the barbarian were divided into three trees: Battlemaster, Berserker and
Juggernaut. However, this came to be revised in 2010. When the new skill list system was
revealed in October 2010, it was noted that all passive skills shifted to traits. In Diablo III,
Barbarian skills are classified into seven tiers. Here are the tiers and some skills therein:
Tier one skills such as:
Bash, a melee attack with bonus damage.
Rampage which increases attack speed.
Tier two skills, which include:
Ground stomp to stun surrounding enemies.
Ignore pain, a shout that reduces all damage suffered.
Tier three skills:
Frenzy, which increases damage and rate with each hit.
Hammer of the ancients smashing for damage and critical hit chance.
Tier four skills:
Leap attack, a destructive long range attack.
Sprint, which boosts speed for some time.
Tier five skills:
Battle rage to increase damage and critical hit frequency for a while.
Rend, a melee attack striking all enemies within a range.
Tier six skills:
Taunt which lowers the damage of other monsters.
Tier seven skills:
Earthquake, where the Barbarian shakes the earth violently to damage enemies.
Barbarian Traits
The Barbarian boasts a rich haven of traits, each requiring a specific level. Most of these traits
allow between 3 and 5 points to be added to them. The effect of this is that the bonuses granted
are improved. For instance, the bad temper increases the generation of fury thus slowing fury
decay. The Barbarian is also lucky as the monsters destroyed drop much larger amounts of food.
Other tadmirable traits of this twenty year old class in Diablo III are toughness, intimidation,
frenzied attacks and thunderous blows. With all these skills and traits, the Barbarian is definitely
worth looking forward to.
