Diablo 3 Billionaire - The Real Money Auction House Makes a Real Splash in Diablo 3
The real money auction house finally arrived to Diablo 3 in early June. It gives players the option to sell and purchase items for real world currencies rather than the in-game currency, gold. The cheapest items on the auction house start at $1.25 US. This auction house offers players who do not have the time to farm massive amounts of gold a fair chance at acquiring the best items.
When selling items on the real money auction house, players have 2 choices on how to receive payment. The first choice is to get paid to their battle.net balance.
This money can only be used to purchase Blizzard products and once the money is added to this account balance it can no longer be withdrawn. To receive money in this manner players simply receive whatever the item sells for minus $1.00, which Blizzard takes out of the transaction.
The other option is to deposit the money received from selling an item directly into your paypal account. With this option, Blizzard takes 1.00 and then 15% percent of the total price on top of that, but players are able to use the money for earned for whatever they like, not just Blizzard products.
Whichever way is chosen, buyers still simply pay the listed price for the items. This system appears to be working quite well so far. Players are able to get the items they need without paying an arm and a leg or farming gold for prolonged periods of time.
If you are the type of player who doesn't have the time to put in towards getting the greatest items, but still wants to enjoy the benefits of wielding the finest gear, the real money auction house is a very viable route towards that end.
