Disposal Plan
Disposal plan is a very necessary requirement for the bridge designs. As per the specification in the
unit outline, the bridge is going to be tested until destruction, so at the end only broken pop stick
sticks are going to remain. We are aware of world-wide environmental concern so the company is
taking positive steps in leaving a small carbon footprint; hence we are only interested in disposing of
our waste in an economically friendly fashion.

So Pentagon Engineering has decided to take the off cuts and the broken bridge home. One of the
team members of Pentagon Engineering has a fireplace and being the winter season, the team has
decided it would be economical and environmentally friendly to burn the material from the broken
bridge. The wood from the pop sticks has properties such that it is easily burnt. This wood can be
used to start the fire, as it is easily flammable and can replace the chemicals that are used in the fire
lighters, helping the environment. The industrial glue that is used (acrylic stud adhesive) is toxic
when burnt, so therefore it would be appropriate to take the glue off the pop sticks and dispose of it
in the normal garbage disposal and be classed as unrecyclable waste. The pop sticks from the bridge
if not burnt can be placed into the recycle bin that is that collected every week from any household.
