#1: Doctor Who: The Novel?
Corrination Street turned 50 last year, and amongst
the millions upon millions of merchendise, they
captured the 50 years in a huge novelisation. That

Who get “Doctor Who: The Novel?”
I can allready see various books being relased: Re-
Releases of Target novels and Past Doctor Adven-
tures, an updated “Legend” or an “Ultimate Guide,”
but could they capture every episode of Doctor
Who in one novel? If you do the maths, by mak-
ing every story 20 pages long, timesing that by the
number of stories to date, (approx. 217,) you get
4340 pages! That’s huge! So, if anyone from the
BBC is reading, here is what you could easily do...
1) Split Novels: e.g. 1-5, 6-11.
If they split them into two novels, you have a more
digestable book size. You could even do 1-3, 4-5,
6-8 and 9-11, simples! This would encourage people
to keep on reading, or just read which Doctor’s they
like the most.
2) One Doctor per Month
If they did eleven novels, one for each month, then this gives the reader the chance to read an entire Doc-
tor in one month. They could then even put dates and rough reading times in: 20 pages a day or something.
Now many of you will be going, “but most stories are longer than others! Lack of detail etc!” So would
it work to create a complete TARGET collection? If the BBC decided to do something like this, they could
create anthologies that have 4-5 of the best episodes, voted for by fans, per Doctor. A bit more easier with
pictures and mini “summaries” of what’s happened in between.
Or what about a regeneration boxset? Each regeneration story and the aftermath? Or am I just making

Fish Fingers and Custard
The Tastiest Fanzine in the
World!

It’s Saturday the 19th of February 2011. I lie/sit on my sofa chair after a very long day trawling around London.
The main part of this excursion around Old London Town was the preview days, one day prior to the “official
opening” of “The Doctor Who Experience.” In a nutshell, it was brilliant! For those of you worried about me
revealing huge spoilers about the interactive part do not worry! I am not cruel, but I will say one thing, (so skip
to the next paragraph if you have spoilerphobia...) Fans of RTD Daleks will be happy...
So, your journey begins as you walk through the vortex into the waiting queue. The way it is designed is to have
x amount of people in at a time: so as one group moves on to section two, the next move onto section one and
so on and so forth. The waiting area has a variety of S5 props and costumes from the following episodes in the
order stated: “The Beast Bellow;” “Victory of the Daleks;” “Vincent and the Doctor;” “The Hungry Earth/Cold
Blood” and “Vampires and Venice.” Then after waiting,
you’re hustled into a dark room with a screen in the mid-
dle, which recaps S5 and then... Well, that would be tell-
ing...
The experience is amazing. When you walk into the TARDIS
Console Room, the child inside of you goes wow! The set
design was amazing: it felt like a TV adventure. Another
The Doctor Who Experience
plus point of the adventure is the 3d element at the end.
It’s brilliant! Bravo to the workers on that element alone!
Matt Smith’s performance was hilarious, and the set design

“Revenge of the Cybermen;” the golden orbs from the first
two Christmas Stories and so much more! I did not take
any video or photos in this, as it would spoil my experi-
ence! If I go again (which is likely,) I will most likely film it.
Anyway, the exhibition! If you want to see my tour of it,
please go to the blog to accsess the video. You walk out to
see the Pandorica in all its grey beauty. Opposite to that is
an array of Radio Times covers showing a fragment of the
History of Doctor Who. As you carry on through, to your
right is the Green Screen area. This was both busy and ex-
pensive. I’d do it if it was less quite etc. Finally in that area,
to your left is the Doctors. The first thing you see is the

slightly freaky Matt Smith dummy and the current TARDIS. This is surrounded by replicas or
“borrowed” costumes of the former ten Doctors. These were great to see, and the support-
ing information was also great. Then you have the Doctor’s Gadgets featuring various sonic
screwdrivers, TARDIS Keys, The Timey Wimey Detector and many others. Then, you con-
tinue forward to be greated to your left to the Ninth/Tenth Doctor TARDIS Console Room!
This was beautiful! You forget
the sheer beauty at first of this
amazing set. You can’t go to
the console, or to the far walls,
but just standing near the
railed off doors was amazing!
The detail was also very good:

This was a nice look into the Behind the Scenes work.
You then walk down into a selection of companion costumes: Amy, Rory, Martha, Sarah-
Jane, Jack, Astrid, and River Song to name but a few. K9 is also situated next to his mistress.
Brilliant to see these up close. Then probably the most amazing part: the classic console.
Despite the small scale the restoration work was sheer brilliance! Below are some pictures,
with thanks to www.thedoctorwhosite.co.uk, of the restoration of this and the classic exte-
rior. Moving on from the TARDIS, you are greeted by the 4th Doctor’s TARDIS exterior next
to one of the Master’s TARDIS’s from “The Keeper of Traken,” (the statue.) Then, a beautiful
display of the Timelord costumes. Again, brilliant!

THE PREQUEL
Matt Powell sat on his chair editing the current things he’s making. He glances around looking for inspiration. Nothing.
Until the crack came... A huge crack in time appeared on the floor. Matt stood up and glanced at it, then suddenly: he
was pulled through. Gone... Or was he?
Matt landed in a huge room like the current TARDIS Console Room. The scanner then flicked into life, and on it was what
appeared to be the Doctor: wearing his fez and bowtie.
“Matt, listen. I’m trapped on a satellite trying to transmit signals deleting some sci-fi show about a strange man called
the Doctor, so: I need you to do me a massive favour.”
“What” Matt asks?
“I need you to watch all of my era, one each month to be published online, in your fanzine, in video form (possibly,) and
whatever else so it can save the entire cosmos. The DVD’s will materialise in that box there, one a month. Don’t worry,
time flies in the TARDIS, and you’ve got exams and stuff to do! But be careful: there are creatures in the episode that
will try and stop you, so you must stop them by the ways the TARDIS tells you to do! Good luck. Oh and one more thing,
you need to wear my outfit, there’s a spare in the box.” Matt goes over to the box with a funny shape on. He pulls the lid
open, and it shines in glory. The contents included the Doctor’s costume, complete with a Fez, aSonic Screwdriver and
“The Eleventh Hour” on DVD.
“Right.” Matt announced, “Let’s get to work...”
A Whovian’s Quest

After nearly five months, we finally got some new Doctor Who! Yes it
was only an hour, but it was one of the most Christmassy episodes to
date. The episode, “A Christmas Carol” was loosely based on Charles
Dickens master piece based on an old man who would not give any mon-
ey away and was visited by three ghosts: Christmas Past, Present and
Future, who changed his way of life. This concet was taken as the Doctor
played ther Role of Ghost of Christmas Past by going back in time adding
new, happy Christmas memories to Kazran, which involved Abigail, who
was eight days away from death outside the chamber. The Mad Christ-
mas’s stopped when they went to Hollywood and Kazran discovered that
Abigail was dying. Christmas Present was Amy, (and Rory telling Kazran
to look away from the mini skirt,) which put Kazran as a hologram on
the crashing ship carrying thousands of innocent lives. Christmas Future
was a very Timey Wimey twist: The Doctor showed young Kazran future
Kazran in such a clever and cute way, which made Kazran more caring.
However, he couldn’t save the day due to the Doctor changing Kazran
too much., but Abigail’s singing saved the day...
The episode itself was a beautifully crafter peice of entertainment, from
the acting to the amazing set design. In fact, Katherine Jenkins was very
good. I had doubts about her, but I was very impressed, and the song
was a beautiful peice of entertainment, (could be this years Christmas
Number One’s hate campaign against the X Factor...)

Gambon was also brilliant, and all the other Kazrans were too! Laurence
played the role of a Young Kazran brilliantly! And Danny Horn was very
good, probably those two just mentioned being the cream of the crop
as supporting cast!
I earlier mentioned the specialy written song, which was amazing, but
every track in the episode was beautiful! The soundtrack CD is a must
buy!
