Combat Inflammation

Diet Tips




Inflammation is your body's natural way of keeping a disease from
spreading to other parts of the body. Inflammation takes place when
there is a painful swelling in a particular area, with redness and
occasionally disables movement or function.

In order to reduce inflammation, it is important to know the right kind of
treatment by having it checked by a doctor, and to eat anti inflammatory
foods in order to ease the malady and help prevent it from coming back.
Here is a brief guide on the types of food you should eat. It is advisable
to talk to an expert with regard to your diet. These should be combined
with exercise and the right medication for your inflammation.

* Foods rich in Omega-3 fatty acids

These types of food contain the "good" fats and oils
which can be found in certain types of fish such as
tuna and salmon. Other sources can rice bran,
grape seed oil, and so on. You can also eat
avocados and put olive oil to your salads in order to not only help reduce
inflammation but also to protect you from cardiovascular maladies.

* Protein sources
You need protein in order to help your body repair itself, especially since
inflammation can be damaging to your cells. Foods such as fish and
other sea foods as well as lean meat such as poultry should be
accommodated into your diet. If you prefer to not eat meat, then get it

from soy or certain legumes.

* Well-prepared Fruits and Vegetables
Fresh fruits and vegetables are always a part of the healthy man's diet.
Many vegetables such as broccoli and fruits such
as strawberries have anti inflammatory properties.

Cut back or eliminate fast foods, junk food, soft
drinks, and red meat from your diet. Try not to eat too much potatoes,
tomatoes and other foods that might trigger inflammations. When
searching for nutritional supplements to prevent and reduce
inflammation, look for Vitamin B complex, A, C and E, with folic acid.
These are well known not only to fight inflammation, but also to keep you
healthy.
