Intro

The Epson WorkForce 610 is a feature filled printer - an auto-document feeder for hands-free
copying, scanning, or faxing of up to 30 sheets of paper, option for both wireless and wired
networking with the icing on the cake with a comprehensive control panel.

However, the 610 disappoints with the lack of an auto-duplexer and an extra hardware add-on that
can print on both sides of a sheet of paper. The Epson WorkForce 610 can be counted on to print
high-quality black-and-white and color documents with a robust four-ink cartridge holder that uses
genuine Epson inks.

Design and features

The Workforce 610 is a carbon copy of the WorkForce 600, except for the help button, which is an
add-on. The 610 has a more robust control panel and a 2.5-inch full-color LCD that shows all
necessary information for printing. A cool feature being that the 610's entire control panel can
rotate and be viewed in diverse angles.

The control panel has a power button, a four-way shortcut pad, help and zoom buttons, a standard
directional pad and functions for the fax machine. There is also support for media cards and
PictBridge USB ports.

A 1,200 X 2,400 dpi scanner it allows in saving images in three ways - to a specific folder, as a
PDF document or attachment for an outgoing e-mail. The NewSoft Presto Page Manager software
assists in organizing scanned images, but the Optical Character Recognition is poor. The
WorkForce 610 also features a 30-sheet automatic document feeder.

Performance

The WorkForce 610 prints an impressive 7.31 pages of text per minute, and exceeds expectations
by printing 13.24 pages per minute of plain black text. The graphics and presentation speeds were
also good, but the photo prints were slow with the overall print quality also being poor.

The Epson WorkForce 610 has a limited one-year warranty.
