Enjoy the Fremont Street Experience downtown, a center for festivals, holiday
celebrations and live entertainment, and find out for yourself why it is considered one of
the most exciting places to be in Las Vegas. Explore architectural recreations of Paris,
Venice and even ancient Egypt, view unforgettable laser and light extravaganza shows,
watch world-class circus performances, visit free and inexpensive museums and art
galleries. Even if your budget is very limited, there are still many exciting family things

The Strip

It's officially known as Las Vegas Boulevard, but in reality it's a strip of glitz and glam of
unrivaled proportions. The Strip is at the heart of Las Vegas fame and home to most of
the top hotels and casinos. Make sure to stop are at the Mirage for its signature volcano,
which erupts every fifteen minutes in good weather, and at the Treasure Island for the
epic pirate battle. The battle takes place every 90 minutes starting at 4 p.m. and although
it's a brief showdown, it's unforgettable. The best of the Strip is on Las Vegas Boulevard
between Sahara and Tropicana Avenues.

Parade in the Sky

Located in Rio's Masquerade Village, the show features state-of- the-art floats that
suspend from the ceiling and parade above the casino floor. Three themed parades are
performed throughout the day: Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Carnivale in Venice, and
Carnivale in Rio. Guests may take part in the parade by riding floats, and wearing
costumes unique to each parade (for a fee). The show is free to the public and is
performed every 2 hours from 2:00pm to midnight daily except Wednesdays.

Ethel M Chocolates' breathtaking Botanical Cactus Garden is Nevada's largest and one of
the world's largest collections of its kind. Based on the English landscape model of
naturalistic design, the Ethel M Botanical Cactus Garden features four acres of drought-
tolerant ornamentals, cacti, and other succulents.
Over 300 species of plants can be found on the grounds. Half are cacti and succulents
largely native to the American Southwest, and the rest are desert trees and shrubs from
the Southwestern United States, Australia, and South America. All of these plants were
chosen both for the beauty of their floral displays and their ability to adapt to the climate
of Southern Nevada. The types of rock used are Utah Bali Hai chocolate and Arizona
moss rock (from the Grand Canyon region). Free attraction.

Appropriately enough, the Flamingo resort is home to a flock of live Chilean Flamingos!
These birds, as well as a collection of other feathered friends, fascinate our guests and

and live on islands and streams surrounded by sparkling waterfalls and lush foliage. Free

is the auto enthusiast's dream. Featuring 250 classic cars that span more than a century,
every single one is available for purchase--from a mere $20,000 to pricey $3 million. The
auto collection is conveniently located on the 5th floor of the parking facility from

The Aquarium

The 117,000-gallon saltwater aquarium is home to the free interactive fish feeding shows.
During each show, one of the Silverton's staff marine biologists dives in the aquarium,
equipped with a full-face communication mask that allows him/her to interact with guests
while feeding the animals, which include 4,200 tropical fish, stingrays, eels and sharks.
There is also a question and answer portion where guests can ask the diver any question
they'd like. Shows are three times daily at 1:30pm, 4:30pm and 7:30pm. Each show lasts
approximately 15 minutes. Free attraction.
Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay

Not your typical aquarium, Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay is a total sensory experience
designed to transport visitors to an undersea ocean of fantastic sights, sounds and
encounters. Featuring 2,000 dangerous and unusual aquatic animals from the world's
tropical waters, Shark Reef takes visitors on a journey through an ancient temple that has
been slowly claimed by the sea. View 100 aquatic species, including 13 different species
of sharks! Open daily 10:00am to 11:00pm. (Last ticket sold at 9:30pm) Admission is
$12.95 for adults, $9.95 for children 5 to 12 years old and free for children under 5 years
old.
Lion Habitat

The MGM Grand Lion Habitat features multilevel areas for the pride lions to play and
interact with the public, which is less than 1 1/2 inches away. The Lion Habitat's pond
and four waterfalls are for the lions enjoyment, along with tunnels and a canyon to prowl
over, under, and through. The Lion Habitat allows direct contact with Lions for
photographs, with the hope that visitors will donate to organizations that save the wild
habitats for the lions. Open from 11:00am to 11:00pm daily. Free attraction.
