This time, the launch of a lot of SUV cars in India is around the corner, and General Motors
India has also inspired with this segment. After just launch of the much awaited premium
hatchback, Chevrolet Sail in the Indian domestic market, the company is mulling over to
unveil its mini SUV at competitive price range.

Already the American auto market has decided to offer the premium hatchback Chevrolet
Sail price at competitive price range such as Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 7 lakh at ex-showroom Delhi. It
is reported to be offered in both petrol and diesel engine models. Meanwhile, the new
compact SUV will be joining the segment of Premier Rio, new launching Mahindra Mini Xylo,
Ford Ecosport and Maruti Ertiga.

On the other hand, Chevrolet Sail features and performance will be making it major
competitor of Renault Pulse, Hyundai i20, Maruti Swift, Volkswagen Polo, Skoda Fabia and
Ford Figo. Its Indian version is very well designed and the available Chevrolet Sail pictures
attract eye-balls. The American auto major is reported to offer the Sail hatchback in both
petrol and diesel versions.
Chevrolet Sail diesel will Fiat made 1.3 litre multijet diesel powertrain that currently does duty
in various Maruti small car models such as Swift, Swift Dzire, Ritz and so forth. Meanwhile,
petrol avatar of the vehicle will have a 1.2 litre S-TEC II petrol engine under the cap. Packed
with these well known engines, Chevrolet Sail mileage is also speculated impressive in the
segment.
