God Doesn't Own A Watch
Not only doesn't God wear a watch, His concept of time is infinite. He only created time so that we would have something to measure.
As difficult as it may be, you have to stop putting a watch on God. Stop putting limits on God by saying that you have to meet
someone, by a certain time period or things won't happen. Be careful of saying the following statements:
-
I will be in a serious relationship by the time I am X years old.
-
I will be married by the time I am X years old.
-
If I am already X years old and still single, then there must not be anyone for me.
-
I am too old to meet anyone new.
When we say these things we are putting time limits on God. I think about Abraham and Sarah. Yes, they were married, but they are a
classic example of trying to put a watch on God. In Genesis 16, they became impatient and entered Hagar. As a result of their
impatience they ended up with Ishmael. If you are too impatient you will end up with an Ishmael. Realize that your Ishmael, may not
be a child, but it may be trouble in other areas of your life. God wants for you to wait patiently for Him to bless you. If you are willing
to wait on your mate, then He will give you an Isaac. If God has not blessed you with a mate, then it may be for one of three reasons.
-
God is still working on something in you.
-
God is still working on the other person.
-
God is still working on both of you.
The worst thing you can do is follow the example of Abraham and Sarah. Continue to have patience with God.
2 Thessalonians 1:4 King James Version (KJV)
4So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye
endure:
When you are patient with God, He will give you the strength to endure all persecutions and tribulations that you are faced with on a
daily basis. Then and only then can both you and the other person be joined together according to the word of God.
