To begin career as a technician certified in ophthalmology, you must have a high school diploma, general education, study chemistry, biology and anatomy / physiology in high school. Once you obtained your GED, you can start a formal education and watch programs approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education or CAAHEP. These programs offer courses that meet the standards set by the Commission. To become a certified ophthalmic technician, you must complete at least one year of training. To increase your salary level and knowledge base, you can complete a two-year program and obtain an associate degree.

How to become a certified Ophthalmic Technician
To begin career as a technician certified in ophthalmology, you must have a high school diploma, general
education, study chemistry, biology and anatomy / physiology in high school. Once you obtained your
GED, you can start a formal education and watch programs approved by the Commission on
Accreditation of Allied Health Education or CAAHEP. These programs offer courses that meet the
standards set by the Commission. To become a certified ophthalmic technician, you must complete at
least one year of training. To increase your salary level and knowledge base, you can complete a two-
year program and obtain an associate degree.
In addition to the training necessary to become an ophthalmic technician, you must also have the skills
that make tasks easier. You must also have excellent manual dexterity, comfortable with computers;
communicate effectively with patients, other technicians and professionals. Become a certified eye tech
is the first step in your career, and provides many opportunities for progression. After becoming
technician in a few years, you have opportunity to become a director or director of the laboratory.
Ophthalmic technicians work with ophthalmologists to check comfort and efficiency of eyeglasses and
contact lenses. To become a certified ophthalmic technician takes several years of training in addition to
