Document Description
You already know that having a website is one of the first steps to take when looking to sell art online. However, your success really depends on how you present yourself on that website and whether you keep readers coming back time after time. If you have a blog or even a standard website, pay attention to these simple tips. Firstly, if you want to sell art then you need to let your visitors know why to buy art. More importantly, why to buy your art! You can either include text in descriptions of each individual piece of work for sale, or write articles on your blog. Let them know why your art will enrich their lives, what inspired you and how it might possibly inspire them. Whilst you need to do your best to sell your own art, you also need to be careful in the language you use. Many of the people looking to buy art will be casual buyers - they may not know about the history of art and your specific influences. But they will understand the emotion behind your work, as well as the power of the images, so make them stand out. Lastly, you should choose your work carefully. Whilst it may seem like the more you have on your website, the more chance you have of making a sale this isn't always the case. Listing up hundreds of works of art for sale can make navigation difficult, and therefore reading the chances of selling your art. Pick your best work, and limit yourself. You can always add more as featured works get sold.
