How To Save On Your Kentucky Health Insurance
Let's be honest when it comes to saving things,
some of us are geniuses and some of us are still
trying to remember to save our plastic bottles for
recycling. So when it comes to saving money with
health insurance some people think about it more
than others. Whether you live in Louisville,
Bowling Green or Lexington, you probably
would like to save a little money on health
insurance.
I'd like to give you a few pointers though so that
no one gets left behind, that way we can ALL save money with our health insurance. For instance if
you are having a health problem that is not an emergency, but you would still like to see a medical
professional, instead of going to an emergency room go to an in-network retail clinic, walk-in doctor's
office or an urgent care center. What does this save you? time, and sometimes as much as $75 to $240.
So now that you know how to save money when you have a stomach ache or a sprain, what
about something a little more complex like blood work or a pap test. Did you know for blood work or
pap tests you can go to in-network labs that are not located in or as a part of the hospital? You can! And
they will help you save up to 20%, while still giving you great service. Another great thing about labs
that are not connected to the hospital is that they have flexible hours so you can have your appointment
before your workday starts.
So once you have seen the doctor or have gone to the lab, how can you still save money? You
can save money on the prescriptions from your doctor. Do not just settle for the first brand you are
recommended. It may be the most highly prescribed brand but that means that it is probably also the
most expensive brand as well. Ask the doctor if there is a generic available and see if it works well for
you. "Generics have the same active ingredients, strength and dose as the brand-name version." Using a
generic prescription can help save you as much as 85% of the cost you would normally pay.
It does not even take that much more time to save money. Most of the research has been done
for you and going to walk-in doctors offices' instead of hospitals are easy to find in almost any area. If
you are serious about your health why not be serious about the savings that can go hand in hand with
it?
