11. Finances
11.1 The income of the Federation is composed of
contributions of members, subsidies, gifts, legacies
and other contributions.
11.2 The contribution shall be fixed by the General
Assembly yearly.
11.3
The financial year of the Federation runs from 1st
October up to and including 30th September of the
next year
11.4 Annually, within six months after the end of the
financial year – subject to an extension of such
period by the General Assembly – the Executive
Board shall report at the yearly meeting of the
General Assembly about the developments and the

for approval to the General Assembly. These
documents shall be signed by all members of the
Executive Board; if the signature of one or more of
them is lacking, this shall be disclosed, stating the
reasons thereof.
11.5
Approval by the General Assembly of the documents

Executive Board for its management, unless the
General Assembly makes a reservation.
11.6
The Executive Board is responsible for all financial
actions of the Federation.
12.
Amendments to the Constitution
12.1
Amendments to the Constitution have to be decided
upon by the General Assembly by a two third majority
at a meeting in which at least one third of the
members are present or represented.
13. Bylaws
13.1
To regulate matters not described in this Constitution

comply with this Constitution. Amendments and
changes to the Bylaws have to be decided upon by
the General Assembly.

1.3.1. IFMSA is officially recognized as a Non-
Governmental Organization (NGO) within the United
Nations system.
1.3.2. IFMSA is officially recognized as a charity
organization, established in the Netherlands.
1.4. Mission
Statement
1.4.1. Our mission is to offer future physicians a
comprehensive introduction to global health issues.
Through our programming and opportunities, we
develop culturally sensitive students of medicine,
intent on influencing the transnational inequalities
that shape the health of our planet.
1.5.
Constitution and Bylaws
1.5.1. IFMSA shall be governed by its Constitution and
Bylaws.
1.5.2. The Constitution is the highest law of IFMSA. The
Constitution shall never be suspended. The
Constitution is registered under Dutch law with the
Chamber of Commerce.
1.5.3. The Bylaws regulate the practical internal
management of IFMSA.
1.5.4. Whenever “he” is mentioned in the Constitution or
Bylaws, this implies on both males and females.
1.6. Logo
1.6.1. The official logo of IFMSA is defined as the crest on
the world grid including the letters “IFMSA”.
1.6.2. Only the official logo of IFMSA can be used.

allowed.
1.6.3. The official logo can only be used by the National
Member Organizations and Officials of IFMSA.
1.7. Publications
1.7.1. All printed material (e.g., leaflets, pamphlets, booklets
and external correspondence) written in the name of
IFMSA (e.g., on IFMSA printed stationary) must be
approved by the Executive Board before being

1.7.2. Advertisements can occur in any printed IFMSA
material except on the IFMSA stationary.
