What's with the interracial dating trend?
We are living in a new millennium and interracial dating seems to be growing at record
rates. It's like all over the place, you get to meet interracial couples especially those
composed of black man - white woman; be it at the market, movies, church, concerts.
Even though interracial dating has been very widespread over the years, many
researchers agree that black women white men couples are just as common as white
women black men couples.
Looking at cities like St. Paul-Minneapolis where interracial dating has really grown,
interracial dating is prevalent too. This development is also apparent in other major cities
like Chicago and New York, Atlanta and Detroit. There is an obvious raise in interracial
couples especially white men black women.
Analyzing the movies and television shows, many also have interracial dating as the
plot; Jungle Fever, One Night Stand, Something New, Grey's Anatomy. And fairy tale
movies such as Cinderella do this too.
Interracial dating is more outstanding than ever and lately there have been amazing
numbers of white men black women dating to say the least.
When it comes to interracial dating, many black women have always felt let down when
a black man marries a white woman. Some black men on the other hand get infuriated at
black women who claim they marry white men because brothas have no clue on how to
treat women in a respected manner.
However in actuality, many black women prefer interracial dating because they have
issues connecting with black men. Most well-read black women believe there is a scarcity
of black men who are in the same league with them on the income and status level. Well,
I think whatever race a black woman or anyone else opts to tie the knot with is because
we all want to find love, feel loved and make a commitment.
Well I am glad that times are changing and so are many social taboos. The best thing you
can do for yourself is to do is to analyze your motives and those of your partner when

taking into consideration interracial dating and marriage... why are you doing what you
are doing?
Going for interracial marriage just to prove a point like you aint racist isn't a good
enough reason. Opting for interracial dating just to get at your family isn't the best reason
either. Doing it just because you presuppose white people or black people are better, or
because you feel there is a scarcity of mates within your race isn't good.
If you are in an interracial relationship, then ensure it's for one reason only ... and that
reason is love.
