Intranet Software Firm Raises Money for Charity through
Social Media
(1888PressRelease) Intranet Connections launched a charity campaign which asked
customers to share their intranet stories about how the people in their organization
are impacted by an intranet. Clients that shared their stories received donations to
their favorite charities.
(1888PressRelease) Intranet Connections (www.intranetconnections.com) Vancouver
provider of social intranet software, used social media to launch a charity campaign
this holiday season by promoting the initiative through their company blog, Facebook
fan page and Twitter. Intranet customers were asked to share their stories about how
the people in the organization are impacted by their intranets. In return, customers
who participated received donations to their favorite charities.
"A few years ago in December we targeted customers on Twitter, and asked them to
send us a tweet. In return we would donate money to their charity of choice",
reported Carolyn Douglas, Intranet Connections CEO, "It was a successful strategy
that helped us to engage with our customer base on a popular social network, and we
had a sense of giving back to this great intranet community that is part of our software
and our Intranet Connections team."
The goal of the "Tell Us Your Story" campaign was to learn about the people behind
the intranets and how this valuable social and cultural tool can be leveraged to
impact employees, and through that, benefit the company. Organizations around the
world use Intranet Connections as their intranet platform, but their success stories are
unique to their business challenges and communication goals.
As a result of the "Tell Us Your Story" campaign, Intranet Connections ended up
donating to charities close to the hearts of clients who participated, with
contributions going to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, The American Red
Cross, BC Cancer Foundation and the Prostate Cancer Foundation. This was the third
year where Intranet Connections has run a charity campaign over the holiday season
using social media channels to promote and distribute goodwill.
