Eisenhower created the program in 1956 to build people-?to-?people relationship among Sister Cities and to increase cultural understanding and awareness. In 2009, the City of Los Angeles celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the formation of the Sister Cities of Los Angeles and partnerships with Nagoya, Japan, and Eilat, Israel. Today, Sister Cities of Los Angeles is a major force in international relations, trade, and cultural exchange with 25 cities. Two major Sister Cities of Los Angeles events are scheduled for 2010 and you are cordially invited to be one of only ten “Official Sponsors.” SISTER CITIES OF LOS ANGELES 2010 FUNDRAISING PARTY Featuring a Salute to the Beatles From the Ed Sullivan years to Abbey Road.
