Lucid Dreaming Made Easy - a guide by Confusion.
For ALL questions just PM me on Reddit, my name is I_bake_cakes.
I have been lucid dreaming for a very long time and I can help you with
just about anything that is regarding this topic.
This is a guide for super beginners, I will cover all basics and this guide is
all you need to get started, I will over full support over PM if you have any
problems.

Lucid Dreaming Made Easy - a guide by I_bake_cakes.
First of, why I decided to write this guide were because of the myths or other
falsehoods about lucid dreaming circulating around this subreddit.
Let me begin with what lucid dreaming is.
A lucid dream is a dream when you are fully, or partly aware of that you are
dreaming, this lucidity will begin when you notice that things in the dream
isn't reality and is comparable with an illusion.
The people who usually have the ability to get lucid dreams are kids, but
they usually grow out of it.
The grade of lucidity that you can achieve varies, at the highest level you are
fully aware that everything in the dream is a creation of your own subconscious
mind.
There are people who say that lucid dreaming is about spiritual energy and is
related to out of body experiences, there is no scientifical proof of this, so in this
guide I will not include buying pills, buying expensive equipment simply to
achieve lucidity because this is not needed, all you need is knowledge.
Lucid dreaming is extremly fun and when you have mastered you could dream
of anything you want, and remember it vividly once you wake up.

Let's start of with the basics, for having the chance to achieve lucidity you need to
be able to remember your dreams.
Humans actually do have dreams every night, remembering them is the issue.
There are a few methods how to remember your dream, but do not get to excited
about it, just relax and let it come, on the next page I will explain the exercise I use
to remember my dream.

When you are doing this method, make sure you are ready to go to sleep and
that you are relaxed.
* You are now laying in your bed on your back with your eyes
closed, remember to clean your head out of all your thoughts.
* Focus on relaxing your whole body while breathing in and until you
feel 100% relaxed.
* Repeat something like this in your head" I am going to sleep, I am
going to dream and I will remember the dream.
* Imagine on how you wake up and write down your dreams in
your head.
* Keep repeating step 4-5 until you are asleep.
Hopefully when you wake up after this you've had some awesome dreams, you
are supposed to write these down in a dream journal, you could use a normal
book, notepad or any other method you prefer.
I strongly recommend having a dream journal, it helped me a lot.
If you wake up on the night you should also write down your dream, after a week
of this or so you will be amazed by how many dreams you remembered, more then
often you can wake up quickly on the night, fall asleep again and never know
about it on the morning.
You should do this until you think you are ready for getting lucid dreaming, when
you have a few dreams every week approximatley we could move on to the next
step.

As I said in the introduction, you cannot have a lucid dream without actually being
aware that you are dreaming.
I will explain how to figure out if you are dreaming or not.
You will begin doing reality checks from now on, the way I use is looking at
my hand everytime I:

* Arrive at work/school.
* Wake up or going to bed.
* Going at the toilet.
* Feeling that something is strange.
When you have developed the routine, you will do a reality check in the
dream, and you will notice that something is wrong with your hand, usually a
few fingers are added or a few fingers are missing, which makes you aware
that you are dreaming.

That makes you lucid, in the next stage I will explain the different ways of getting
lucid dreams.

I recommend this method for people who have been working on remembering their
dreams, the optimal scenario would be you having 1 dream every night that you
remember, however a few should work just fine.
After you have performed the stages of falling asleep, which I explained on page 4
you will continue with these steps:
When you have wake up, write down the dream as I suggested previously, but
after this you lie down and go back to sleep, imagine that you are back into
the dream.
When you are back remember recognizing a sign in the dream, this should
make you aware that you are dreaming which will make you lucid.
Focus and do not let your mind wander away, sweet dreams.

When you are using the WILD method, you go instantly from the sleep state into
dreaming state.
The way you do this is by having your body fall asleep when your mind is awake,
simply explained.
* Start of by relaxing, you want to reach hypnagogic stage, that is when
you are on the border between being awake and asleep.
* Focus on your breathing, and having every muscle relaxing in your
body, when you feel that you are completely still focus on not falling
asleep.

* You could count to 100 over and over again while repeating that you are
dreaming.
* Focus on your breathing, do not fall asleep.
* If you have succeeded in staying awake in this state you will slowly but
surley feel that you can step into a dream.
Being able to do this method without drifting of into other thoughts and
falling asleep is really hard at first, so keep trying because when you have
mastered this method you will be able to lucid dream almost at will.

You could combine WILD and WBTB, WBTB is short for wake back to bed,
that is when you set your clock a few hours earlier before you wake up, get out
of bed and do something that has with dreams to do, read something or just
read on the internet

Do this in an hour or so, perform a WILD and your chances of getting lucid is
quite big compared to just doing a WILD.

While LD'ing you could have a SP, which means sleep paralysis, you will feel like
you are in your bed but you will be completely paralyzed, sometimes you might
hear buzzing noises, or other weird noises.
Make sure just not to open your eyes and don't do anything until you know you can
move or you are in the dreaming state.

I hope you had a great time reading this guide, it is pretty short but all you need to
get started, you now got everything you need to begin lucid dreaming, but if you
want to learn even more I suggest you just to keep lurking in the subreddit, but I
also recommend LD4all.com, a site that I was active on long before this
subreddit. :)
Thank you for reading, and sweet dreams.
