The magic bag
The basics
First you need the basics of how anti shoplifting devices work. At this website:
HowStuffWorks you can see in great detail how it works.
Now you know how anti shoplifting devices work were going to make a bag wich defeats
those devices!
Principal of the magic bag
The magic bag works by blocking the signals that come from those pillars near the
entrance. Becouse the magic bag is made from alluminium foil the "ray's" of the anti-
shoplifting device can't detect if you have stolen anything (becouse they don't see the
anti theft tag).
Building the magic bag
Ok lets begin: First the things you need (picture 1)

1: A bag, just an ordinary bag big enough for your "magic bag"
2: Alluminium foil, just basic foil which you can buy in the
supermarket.
3: Glue, you need that for glueing the alluminium foil together, you
can use ordinary glue.
4: Tape, this will be used to tape the alluminium foil together and
is also used to protect it, I used clear tape but duct tape will also
work I guess.
5: Scissors, to cut the foil and tape.
6: Brush, to distribute the glue on the foil.
Making the bottom
First we will make the bottom of the magic bag, so get the bag
where you want to put your "magic bag" in, and measure the
bottom of it. Lets say the bottom measures 30 cm by 10 cm, if we
want to fit our bottom into that bag we will have to make it a little
smaller, so we will make our bottom 28 cm by 8 cm.
We also want the bottom to look like this: (picture 2)

As you see the bottom has sides on it, so the bottom is not a flat
piece of alluminium foil.
In order to make a bottom like that one (picture 2) you got to
have "flaps" on it, that is the side sticking up. We want the sides
to stick up 5 centimeters, so we got to add 5 centimeters to all
sides (left, right, top and bottom. Picture 3 is is a sketch of the
measurements.

So for our magic bag we need a 38 cm by 18 cm piece of
alluminium foil (28+5+5=38 and 8+5+5=1
Lay the piece of alluminium foil on the ground an grab a bottle of
glue, now spread a good amount of glue on the piece of foil
(picture 4)

And with your brush smear the glue equally over the foil,
especially the edges. Now get your second layer of foil (exact the
same size as the first on) and lay it over the first one, which is
covered in glue, do this carefully so there are no "ripples" in the
foil (picture 5).

Now repeat this process till you have glued 10 pieces of foil
together (picture 6). It will take some time till you glued all 10
pieces together, around 30 minutes.

Now you have a THICK piece of alluminium foil , as you have
noticed by now the thick piece handles alot better then a single
layer of alluminium foil.
But we want to protect the thick layer from sharp materials,
becouse if you put for example a cd case in the bag, the edges of
the cd case could cut the alluminium foil, offcourse we don't want
this to happen so we will cover the alluminium foil with tape.
First we will tape the edges (picture 7) and then we will tape the
entire layer of foil.

You take a piece of tape that is long enough to stick a little out at
he edges (picture 7), and put the lower half on one side of the
alluminium, and then fold it over to the other half (picture

Now continue this till you have taped all the edges. Now you
notice that the layer of alluminium foil handles alot better now,
but your not done yet becouse we want the entire layer of
alluminium coverd in tape (picture 9)

Now it feels really stiff, but it can still be bent in any form you
want. Now we are done with all the taping and glueing for the
bottom, now we are going to shape it.
First resize it so you know how to fold it, i used the bottom from
the bag (picture 10).

Now we are going to fold it into place, but you have make 4 cuts in
the layer (picture 11)

Now fold it togther so that is looks like picture 12, and glue & tape
it together so it is a firm construction.

Making the sides
Now we are done with the bottom we will continue with the sides,
first we determine how high the sides must be. Lets say the bag
you are planning to use is 30 centimeters high then we wll make
the side around 25 centimeters high.
We will make the four sides out of one long 30 centimeters high
piece of alluminium foil, to determine how long it must be you
have to measure the four sides of your bottom (of the bag, not
your ass) our example bottom has 2 sides of 28 centimeters and 2
sides of 8 centimeters so that adds up to 28+28+8+8=72
centimeters for extra security add an extra 5 centimeters, so you
will have a layer wich measures 77 centimeters by 30 centimeters
(picture 13)

Now just glue 10 layers of 77 by 30 centimeters of foil together
(picture 14) and then cover them in tape, I know it takes a long
time.

Ok now you got to fold this long layer into size so you can put it
around your bottom (again not your ass) as in picture 15.

You have to glue the sides to the bottom ONE BY ONE, you must
allow it to dry, and for extra securty tape the bottom and the sides
together. Now if you have don that i shoul look like picture 16

Now that starts looking like a bag, eh? Next stop, the top.
Making the top
Now we got a good looking bag, we also want a good looking top
to seal it off.
The top is very similar to to bottom, you can use your
measurement you use for the bottom, but is a little different
(picture 17)

But you have to let the top be able to clap open, as in picture 18.

closed.

Well that was the making of the magic bag all you got to do now is
to put it in a real bag, now hope that you got the measurements
right, and put the magic bag in the ordinary bag (picture 20)
