North Vietnam Bird Watching Tour 15 days/ 14 nights
Hanoi - Cuc Phuong - Xuan Thuy - Cat Ba - Hanoi - Sapa - Ba Be - Hanoi
Itinerary
Day 1 : Hanoi - Arrival
Today, you'll arrive in Hanoi and a driver and guide will meet you at arrivals for your
hotel transfer. On the way you'll get your first impressions of Vietnam, buzzing with
street traders and mopeds. Get your room at selected hotel. The rest of the day you are
free to enjoy at your leisure.
Day 2 : Hanoi - Cuc Phuong national park (B,L,D)
Morning drive to Cuc Phuong National Park 130km south of Hanoi. Visit the Endangered
Primate Rescue Centre. Check in the Guest House inside the park. Have Lunch. In the
afternoon we observe the birds gathering in the Botanical Garden and in the lush rain
forest. Dinner and relax.
Day 3 : Cuc Phuong national park (B,L,D)
Spend another day bird watching. Drive 20km through the rain forest to the Bong Station,
then follow a circular route viewing a variety of endangered bird species. The 6-km trail
passes through a wood of giant trees, some of which are over 1000 years old. Return to
the guesthouse in late afternoon. Dinner, relax and overnight inside the park.
Day 4 : Cuc Phuong national park (B,L,D)
Rising this morning with the sounds of the forest all around us, we head out for a trek
through the lush rainforest that makes up the park. The trek will take in stops at centuries
old giant trees. Picnic lunch in the park before we reach out the Muong minority people
village. Dinner and overnight at local homestay of Muong people. During the 15 km
trekking, view the wide variety of preserved bird species in the park and enjoy the sights
and sounds of the jungle. Overnight at local homestay.
Day 5 : Cuc Phuong national park - Xuan Thuy ramsar (B,L,D)

Drive from Cuc Phuong national park to Xuan Thuy ramsar - the first ramsar in Vietnam
- situated in Nam Dinh province and covers an area of 7,100 ha. The major habitats are
estuaries, mangroves, sedges, mudflats, sandy flats and shrimp ponds.
Day 6 : Xuan Thuy Ramsar (B,L,D)
All-day-long bird watching in the Xuan Thuy.
Day 7 : Xuan Thuy - Cat Ba island (B,L,)
Drive from Xuan Thuy to Cat Ba island vie Hai Phong. Take a first look at Cat Ba
national park. Relax and overnight in Cat Ba island.
Day 8 : Lan Ha bay and Viet Hai village (B,L,)
After breakfast at the hotel. You will take a full day boat trip to visit Lan Ha bay, Viet
Hai village (other side of Cat Ba national park). Have lunch on boat and visit Monkey
island. Back to Cat Ba in the afternoon. Dinner and relax.
Day 9 : Cat Ba island - Hanoi - Overnight train to Sapa (B,L,)
Drive from Cat Ba back to Hanoi vie Halong. Lunch on the way. In the evening transfer
to Hanoi railway station to catch your train to Lao Cai.
Day 10 : Sapa (B,L,)
Pick up at Lao Cai railway station and transfer to Sapa. Get your room. Have breakfast at
the hotel. Relax and see Sapa town. In the afternoon, take a walk up to visit Orchid's
garden. Overnight in Sapa.
Day 11 : Sapa (B,L,)
All-day-long bird watching in Fansipan forest. Go back Sapa. Overnight Sapa town.
Day 12 : Sapa - Ba Be national park (B,L,D)
Take a long drive from Sapa to Ba Be national park in Bac Kan province. Overnight at
local homestay inside the park.
Day 13 : Ba Be national park (B,L,D)
A full day explore Ba Be lake and national park by boat.

Day 14 : Ba Be national park - Hanoi(B,L,)
Take a long drive from Ba Be to Hanoi.
Day 15 : Hanoi - Departure (B,)
Take a rest before we transfer you to the airport to catch your flight home.
