HR SUMMIT-2011

Jagan Institute of Management Studies, Sector -5, Rohini, New Delhi organized H R Summit
2011 at Silver Oak Hall, Indian Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi-110003 on " 20:20 HR
STRATEGIES -the route to HRM 2020", on 26th November, 2011, Saturday.
The Event was inaugurated with the Lamp Lighting Ceremony followed by Saraswati Vandana.
Dr. S.C. Kapoor, Prof, JIMS with his inaugural speech briefed the delegates about the Event
Schedule. The welcome speech was delivered by (Hon.) Dr. J. K. Goyal, Director, JIMS and the
vote of thanks were given by Ms. Mansi Arora, Faculty.
The H R Summit 2011 was designed to make HR Professionals learn to anticipate changes and
understand what is necessary to implement. They must understand business decisions by
balancing a range offactors that often conflict with one another.It requires the focus on ISSUE
and not the PERSONALITIES. The HR professionals
have to have a global mindset with competence of understanding business imperatives necessary
for organizational strategies with sensitivity.. The HR Summit received an overwhelming
response and saw participation not only from HR field but professionals in cross- functional
departments like sales, marketing, supply chain, operations and academics.

The HR Summit 2011 had 3 Technical Sessions. First session was on Changing Dynamics of
HR - Strategic and Nurturing Roles, Second session was on Learning and Development of
the most precious resources of an organization- Human Resources and the third session was
dedicated to find out the answer of the question- will IR re-emerge as the strongest challenge
in manufacturing industries in 2020?
The key note speakers of the event were Dr. S.C. Kapoor, Prof, JIMS; Mr. S.Y. Siddiqui,
Managing Executive Officer - Admin (HR, IT, Finance & COSL), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.; Mr.
Sumit Chaudhuri Chairman & MD, Third Millennium Business Resource Associates Pvt. Ltd..;
Mr. Deepak Behl, Director - HR, Double Tree By Hilton Hotel; Mr. Shekhar Ghosh, Former
Director (HR), Indian Airlines; Mr. O.P. Tyagi Management Consultant (I R); Mr. Chiranjiv
Singh, General Manager (HR), Awantha Holdings Ltd. (Thapar Group); Mr. V. K. Verma,
General Manager (HR), Tata Consultancy Services; Mr. Rakesh Sethi, Sen. Vice President
(HR), Fedders Lloyd; Ms. Deepa, Group Head (HR & Training), SMC Group; Mohammed
Parwez Hussain, Corporate Head (HR & IR), Continental Device India Limited and many other
renowned names from the industry.
The H R Summit 2011 received an overwhelming response from the faculty & Students of JIMS.
The event concluded with the Valedictory Session with the presentation of mementos &

certificates to the delegates. The Valedictory Speech & the vote of thanks was given by Dr.
S.C. Kapoor, Prof, JIMS.
Overall the event was a great learning experience for all the delegates, faculties and the students.
