National Business Quiz Competition 2011
JIMS organized a National Business Quiz Competition 2011 on 12th November, 2011, Saturday
at Jagan Institute of Management Studies, Sector -5, Rohini, New Delhi. The Guest of honour
was Mr. Deepak Chaurasia, Editor, Star News along with the Quiz Master Mr. Manimugdha
Sharma, Chief Copy Editor, Times of India. The Quiz was inaugurated with Saraswati Vandana
and followed with the floral welcome of the chief guests. The welcome speech was delivered by
Dr. J K Goyal, Director, JIMS.
Mr. Deepak Chaurasia, Editor, Star News delivered the inaugural speech with his eclectic
thoughts on management. Mr. Mani Mugdha Sharma, Chief Copy Editor, Times of India
addressed the audience & briefed the participants about the Quiz Rules & Schedule. The event
was conceptualized by Dr. Madan Mohan, Dean, JIMS.
The National Business Quiz Competition 2011 received an overwhelming response and more
than 100 teams from reputed institutes like FMS, Delhi University, IIT Delhi, IIT Rourkee,
LBSIM, SRCC, Faculty of Law, Delhi School of Economics and IMT etc. were registered for
the quiz The mega event brought together the sharpest young minds across India.
The event was divided into two sessions. In the first session the Preliminary Round was held,
wherein around 100 teams contested and on the basis of the result of Prelims six teams were
selected for the finals. The teams selected to contest for the second & final session of the Quiz
were IMT Ghaziabad, Delhi School of Economics, Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business
Studies, Rajdhani College (DU), Delhi School of Management (DTU), Lal Bahadur Shastri
Institute of Management (LBSIM).
The final session of the Quiz had seven interesting and challenging Rounds, Prateek Sharma &
Ajay Sharma (Delhi School of Management) emerged out as the winners. The First Runner
Up title was bagged by Ankit Jain & Richa Jha (Delhi School of Economics) & Second
Runners Up were Anuj & Raj ( Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management).The First
position holder s were awarded with the cash prize of Rs 15000 & the Rolling Trophy. The Ist &
IInd Runner ups were awarded Rs. 10,000 & Rs. 5000 respectively. Consolation Prizes &
Certificates were also given away to the participants.
The event concluded with the presentation of mementos to the chief guests & Vote of thanks was
given by Dr. Madan Mohan, Dean (JIMS).
Overall the event received a huge acclamation from all the participants, faculties and the students
and turned out to be a glorious event for the JIMS Community.
