(1888PressRelease) - New York, NY; September 30, 2010- Sherry Aiken has recently
announced that she will be designing a variety of new quilts scheduled to be released in time for
Christmas 2010. Sherry has been a quilter for 30 years and has recently decided to start offering
her hand-made quilts to anxious buyers. Sherry Aiken will also sell patterns she has created to
those wishing to make the quilts themselves.
Sherry Aiken has been quilting since 1970; a skill she learned from her mother. Until recently
Sherry quilted for her own pleasure and gave many of her expertly crafted items to family and
friends. It wasn't until this last year that a friend pointed out the market demand for hand crafted
items; especially those as beautiful as the quilts made by Sherry Aiken.
It was that conversation that lead to Sherry deciding to attend a variety of quilting workshops to
hone her skills of quilt making.
The seminars really helped Sherry Aiken to look into the professional side of this creative
process. "My work became much more detailed thanks to those seminars" said Sherry Aiken,
"they gave me the confidence to start selling my quilts instead of just giving them away."
Sherry Aiken will offer not only handmade quilts, but also quilt patterns for those that enjoy
quilting but are looking for new inspiration. Sherry Aiken draws out each quilt pattern by hand
and then utilizes the computer to scan potential fabric choices prior to stitching a single thread.
This allows Sherry the ability to experiment without wasting time or materials and also makes
for a diverse selection of patterns for potential buyers to choose from.
