Singapore Stock Exchange - Some Facts

The SES is the Stock Exchange Singapore or the
Singapore stock exchange. They have about 800
corporations on their exchange and over 450 of them
are domestic and the other 300 and some are
international companies. The exchange has been around
since the late 90's and is the result of a merger
between two of the region's largest companies.

This region sets up their trading day a little
differently than busy region in the west do. Every
day between Monday and Friday they close the trading
from 12:30 to 2:00 and then resume the work after
that. There are differences in the culture and
philosophy of the country that are responsible for
this.

For thousands of years adventurers and travellers
sailed the waters along this region of the world.
They travelled to Australia and back up to the
southern tip of Asia. They were looking for goods and
spices that could not be found in their area of the
world. The Singaporean region provided a midway point
for travellers to stock up of goods from the south.
It was like a market place and trading post. This
philosophy has been embedded in the culture for
centuries.

The two largest financial centers in the East are the
Singaporean area and Hong Kong. The largest areas for
technological manufacturing are Taiwan and South
Korea. Their economies are very highly developed and
have seen continual and dramatic growth for decades.
Money experts from all over the world keep their eye
on this region for trends in strategy.

As the fourth largest financial hub of the world,
only behind London, Tokyo and New York the SES is a
major player of global finance. This area also has
the second largest gambling industry in the world and
third biggest oil refinery industry in the world.

The Singaporean region also has the fifth busiest
port on the planet and is a front runner in major
shipping repairs. It manufacturers the most oil rigs
and ships them out anywhere in the world.
Interestingly, this area has, per capita, more
millionaires anywhere on Earth. This nation is rich
in it's industry and financial acumen and one of the
many reasons why the SES is a leader in the exchange
market.

There is no better time to invest in the SGX Nifty if
you are an investor. The World Bank lends money to
countries around the world and declares Singapore as
one of the greatest places to do business anywhere in
the world.
