SNEAK PATH SECURITY ANALYSIS (SPSA) FOR INDUSTRIAL CYBER SECURITY

Sneak path analysis (SPA) is used to identify design flaws in systems that may result in events with adverse consequences. Topological diagrams are constructed for the system and used to identify paths that connect hazards with people or other assets to be protected. SPA for security applications (SPSA) identifies paths that enable threat sources to access target assets to cause harm, and measures are considered to eliminate or protect against them. An example of the method applied to cyber security is provided.
