Document Description
In multi –step equations, we solve the equation in one – step and two steps. When we solve the multi – step equation we have to put the same or like variable in one side of the equal side and the number in other side of the equal sign. Now we see solving multistep equation. For Solving Multistep Equations we have to follow some of the steps which are as follows: Step1: Firstly we take a multistep equation. Step2: when we solve the multistep equation then we combine all the like term in one side or divide that number on both sides of the equation. Step3: And we take the number in other side of the equation. Step4: Then we make one term equation in both the equations. Step5: If we going to solve the equation then we change the sign of the variable. If the number is positive then we change it into negative and the number is negative then we change it into positive.

Solving Multistep Equations
In multi -step equations, we solve the equation in one - step and two steps. When we solve
the multi - step equation we have to put the same or like variable in one side of the equal side
and the number in other side of the equal sign.
Now we see solving multistep equation.
For Solving Multistep Equations we have to follow some of the steps which are as fol ows:
Step1: Firstly we take a multistep equation.
Step2: when we solve the multistep equation then we combine al the like term in one side or
divide that number on both sides of the equation.
Step3: And we take the number in other side of the equation.
Step4: Then we make one term equation in both the equations.
Step5: If we going to solve the equation then we change the sign of the variable. If the number
is positive then we change it into negative and the number is negative then we change it into
positive.

Step6: At last we get the answer.
Now we wil see some of the example by using all the above steps:
Step1: firstly we have a multistep equation:
-7(6y -8) = 6y + 24;
Then we solve the bracket and make the equation in proper form.
-42y + 56 = 6y + 24;
Now fol ow the same processor i.e.
Step 2:- This equation has its own variable on both side of equal sign. So we have to put the
like variable on the same side. Let's we have to move the value 6y from the right side to left
side and by subtraction 6y on both side of the equation.
-42y + 56 = 6y + 24;
-6y -6y
-48y +56 = 24
On further solving the equation we get this value and now
Step: 3- now variables are isolated on the left side of the equation, on solving the
equation we have to use new technique of one and two step equations. On subtract 56 on
both side of the equation:
-48y + 56 = 24
-56 -56

Then when we solve this multi step equations we get:
-48y = -32
Now we have to divide the equation by -48 on both sides.
After dividing the value we get
-48y = -38
-48 -48
On further solving we get:
Y = 38/48;
Y = 0.79;
We get the value of y = 0.79.
Suppose we have -5(2P - 4) = 6(6 + 4P); then solve the multi step equation.
Step1: firstly we have a multistep equation:
-5(2P - 4) = 6(6 + 4P);
Then we solve the bracket and make the equation in proper form.
-10P + 20 = 36 + 24P;
Now fol ow the same processor i.e.
Step 2:- This equation has its own variable on both side of equal sign. So we have to put the
like variable on the same side. Let's we have to move the value 24P from the right side to left
side and by subtraction 6y on both side of the equation.
