Learn about systems of equations concept. A "system" of equations is a set or group of equations. Linear equations are easy than non­linear equations, and the simplest linear system is one with two equations and two variables. System of equations is a collection of two or additional equations with a same set of unknowns. In solving a system of equations, we need to find values for every of the unknowns that will declare every equation in the system. The system of equation can be linear or non­linear. The problem can be spoken in sequence of actions form or the problem can be expressed in algebraic form. Types of Systems of Equations Elimination :­ Elimination technique is considered as one of the algebraic method for solving systems. In elimination method an operation on 1 equation is performed so that cancelling one variable and finding the other variable.

TypesofSystemsofEquations
Elimination:
Elimination technique is considered as one of the algebraic method for solving systems. In
eliminationmethodanoperationon1equationisperformedsothatcancellingonevariableand
findingtheothervariable.

Substitution:
Insubstitutionmethodthealgebraicexpressionofoneofthevariableissubstitutedinanother
equationattheplaceoftherespectivevariableandthenthevariableissolved.Againby
substitutinginanyoftheequationthevalueofthesecondvariableisalsofound.
Linearequation:
Analgebraicexpressionwhichrelatetwovariablesandwhosegraphisaline.
Matrix:
Arectangulararrayofnumberwritteninbracketsandusedtofindsolutionsforcomplexsystems
ofequations.
ConsistentSystem:
Inthiswaywehavethesetofequationswholesolutionssetisrepresentedbyonlyoneordered
pair.

Solution:
Step1:x+2727=7121(Subtract27onboththesides)
Example2:Givena+15=75.

Step1:Weneedtofindthevalueofa.
Step2:Subtract15onboththesides.
Step3:Sothevalueofais60.
Example3:y=2x+1,2y=3x2
Solution:

Step1:Substituteoneequationtoanother.So2(2x+1)=3x2.

Step2:Nowwehavesinglevariableequation,weneedtosolvethatvariableequation.
x=2=2
Sothevalueofx=4
Step3:Nowwesolvedthatvariable.sonowweneedtoplaceinthatvariablebackintoeither
equationtoobtainthevalueofyatthesolution.
Weknowthatx=4.Nowweneedtofindtheyvaluey=2(4)+1=7.
Sox=4,y=7
Example4:SolvethefollowingequationsbyusingtheEliminationmethod:
2x+2y=4,4x2y=8
Solution:
Step1:2x+2y=4.
4x2y=8.
Step2:Subtractingequation2from1,weget.

6x=12

Step3:Divideusing6onboththesidessox=2.
Step4:Nowplugxvaluesinequation1.
4x2y=8.
4(2)2y=8.
82y=8.
Y=0.
Step5:So,thesolutionis(2,0)
