The bestselling author of all times, Christie's first novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, was the first to
feature one of the most famous fictional creations of all time, the eccentric Belgian detective Hercule
Poirot. Poirot, a retired Belgian police officer went on to become the most enduring characters in all of

in "Murder at the Vicarage" in 1930. An elderly spinster in the charming English village of St. Mary Mead,
solved all manner of mysteries with intense concentration and perception. The shrewdly inquisitive Miss
Jane Marple, exemplifies the cozy style, a form of mystery fiction that became popular in, during the

novels have been widely dramatized in feature films and television movies.
