Sometimes our four legged friends do not know when to stop barking. This can be caused by
fear, anxiety, excitement and even pain. Dogs just want to be heard, much like people do.

the form of a loud beep. These two types of corrections per say are harmless to the dog and
have been proven to work wonders. For those who are worried about repeated shocks, there
are col ars with a shock limit. Once this limit is reached, the collar usual y shuts off for a
period of time. If you are not comfortable with these collars, there is another option.
Citronella collars: These collars are a very gentle way to stop your pup from barking. They
work by incorporating a citronella spray into a dog collar. Once your dog starts barking, the
col ar will spray citronella in front of your dogs snout. Dogs typically do not like this smell and
understand that when they bark it will be present.
Will bark collars hurt my dog?
Studies have been shown that moderate use of either collar will not hurt your dog. Anti-bark
col ars are always up for debate, most dogs will never have side effects from these col ars.
However, the safer route is the citronella collar. Since citronella does not harm the dog, there
is no worry of discomfort or over shocking.
Bark col ars will be a great way to help reinforce your dog's training. However, they should be
