Urgency of Vocational Training in Schools
Indian education system is churning out millions of college pass outs who don't have the specific
skill sets that are required in the market, no professional training. This is leading into the
increasing percentage of unemployment. To rectify this situation vocational training programs
needs the urgency of getting introduced during the school level. This may include secretarial
practices, computer operator and programme assistant, library assistant, architectural
draughtsman ship, desktop publishing, electrical technician, electronics mechanic, refrigeration
and air conditioning, plumbing, tailoring and dress making, hair and skin care, fruit and
vegetable preservation programs, etc. In fact, education is hopeless if it does not make people fit
for a livelihood. So the government should take steps in having vocational training in school
