What Are Vertical AngleWhat Are Vertical AngleIn mathematics angles are very important, easy to understand and also plays important role in
geometry because there are various types of angles are present in geometry which help us
while proving various theorem in geometry.
Now the meaning of angle is when two different lines are meeting at one point and that point is
the end point of both the lines then angle is formed and the meeting point of both the lines are
called vertex of the angle.
Suppose that there are two lines and the starting point of first line is A and the starting point of
second line is B now these two lines are going to meet at one point that is O and O is the end
point of both the lines then we are going to represent angle like A
OB or B
OA.
Now the angle is represent in degrees and minimum degree is 00 and maximum degree is
3600.
Now we are going to discuss What are Vertical Angles? Vertical angles are those angles
which are opposite to each other are vertical angles and the value of both the angles is same.

Now we see that how vertical angles are formed, when there are two lines and when they are
intersect each other then angles are formed and those angles are opposite to each other are
called vertical angles.
Let's take a example suppose that we have two straight lines and both are intersect each
other at O point so when two lines intersect each other then four angles are formed now we
see that those angles which are opposite to each other are vertical angles and both having
same values.
Now there are various types of other angles are also used in geometry some of them are
given below
1. Acute angle: -
When we measure any angle and its value is less than 900 are called acute angle.
2. Right angle: -
If we measure any angle and whose value is exact 900 are cal ed right angle.
3. Obtuse angle: -
When we measure any angle and its value is greater than 900 and less than 1800 or in other
words the value of any angle is between 900 and 1800 are called obtuse angle.
4. Straight angle: -
Those angles are cal ed straight angle whose value is exact 1800 and straight angle is same
as straight line while representing on paper.
5. Reflex angle: -

Now we measure any angle and if its value is greater than 1800 and less than 3600 or we can
say between 1800 and 3600 are called reflex angle.
6. Supplementary angles: -
When we add two angles and its value become 1800 are called supplementary angle. Now we
are going to elaborate the meaning of vertical angles
In geometry opposite angles are formed by intersecting of two or more lines and these
arecal ed vertical angles and having the same degree and now vertical angles plays important
role in geometry as this is used in many theorems when we want to prove them.
