Which is Better---HDMI or DVI?
When HDMI was released into the market there were some people who compared it to DVI. The

Before, it was DVI that dominated the industry. DVI is Digital Video Interface then HDMI came or the

can provide better image quality though both of them are better than analog. Digital cables are known

Another advantage of HDMI over DVI is its security protection feature. It has the High Definition
Content Protection or HDCP. This HDCP feature is responsible for encrypting digital signals using an
authentication key. When the authentication does not go well or fails then there would be no signal that
can be transmitted, hence the safety of data transmission.
In the physical aspect both HDMI and DVI cables are different. The end of 1.5m HDMI cable is much
smaller than with the DVI. The HDMI looks similar with a USB cable while DVI has a bigger end with pins.
However both HDMI and DVI can have long runs for wall installations and other purposes but the cables
that are apt for this are the thicker ones to avoid loss of signal transmission.
HDMI is also backward compatible which means even if you are working with the latest version of HDMI
cable it can still work with the older version. Also you can still connect a DVI source into a HDMI output.
You only need the cable that has a DVI connector at one end and HDMI on the other end. With this you

HDMI definitely outshines DVI. Data transmission with HDMI is much faster compared to DVI and it
already transmits both audio and video signals whereas DVI is only for video. Though the quality of
resolution is not so far but still HDMI is one step ahead of DVI. With this HDMI can truly support future
technologies and can be used for a long time.
