Learning and Making with Electronics



A workshop on learning and making with electronics was conducted for BCA
students at JIMS sec. 5 Rohini Delhi on Oct. 8, 2011, Oct. 11, 2011 and Oct. 18,
2011.

The main objective of the workshop was to make the students understand the basic
concepts of digital electronics by working on digital kits. Learning can be
enhanced by incorporating experiments/projects with theoretical concepts. Digital
trainer kits were used to perform experiments on digital electronics. Students
checked IC's 7404, 7408, 7400, 7432, 7402 on the kits. They verified the truth
tables of various gates and designed basic gates using universal gates. Students
were taught to design combinational circuits on bread boards. They were asked to
simplify various Boolean expressions and verify them with the kit.

Organized workshop was a complete success. The aim and objective of the
workshop was successfully achieved. Students learned and enjoyed the circuit
designing.

Jims provided a unique opportunity to its BCA students to learn basic digital
electronics by making it with their hands.
